Hey y'all
this is what i've been up to for the past 3 - 4 weekends.
I've put maria and the roses on hold because these 3 i've been working on were to be submitted for a competition and event: ALFRESO ARTISTS.
It'll be an event showcasing works of local artists in the first week of nov there abouts. the results will be out on monday (19 OCt) - cross my fingers (:
anyway, here they are, i really hope u enjoy it. i've included my little write up on them for ur reading.
enjoy (:
(based on the theme "Landscape")
To me, the concept of Landscape brings to mind the unknown, but it is not something to be afraid of; rather, to be relished. My works aim to create a visual journey for the viewer, allo...wing the audience to engage in this Landscape visually, physically and conceptually. Through my process, I myself have learnt to understand my material and its nuances, and discover things unknown to me. Landscape is about discovery. It is about fun.

rose
I've finally begun on the next series of paintings.
I have inculcated a strange liking for roses over the past year or so...
but i have always been fascinated with flowers, ever since young.
This series is dedicated to the simple beauty of the rose.
On another note, i surprisingly managed to finish this piece today in about 5 or so hours.
although it's still a bit rough when u look closely, I'm rather pleased with the result...
It'll need another layer though to smoothen out the gradients and the blends.
Rendering of subtle tonalities can be improved further.
Hope you enjoy (:

...more to come (:
